Happy new year, everyone. I'm back to posting junk the majority of you all don't care about. But for those who care, and support...thank you for reading. :)
It's been a good year I have to say, and I'm back on the blog wagon. It's a new year, that means a new me, and of course that starts with fitness. My new years resolution isn't to lose weight, that's my life's goal. I've been working on exercising and eating clean (besides a few holiday cookies) ever since I've got home, so it was very disheartening when I got on my scale today and weighed in at a whopping 207 pounds. I've gained seven pounds since November 20th. A major part of those pounds were added at the end of the semester when I was pulling all nighters and stress eating during finals. I was not taking care of my body, and I regret it. I remember getting on that scale and being the lightest I had been in forever. Reaching 200 lbs was a big accomplishment for me, and now I have to re-accomplish it. That's okay, we fall so we learn how to pick ourselves back up.
I've been working out religiously and watching what I eat very closely, so I'm confused as to how I've been gaining instead of losing. A couple of guesses: I've been lifting weights so I'm building muscle, or prompt old mother nature has blessed me with bloating and water retention. Either way, I'm not going to let it bring me down. I return to school in 13 days and I am a woman with a plan.
First of all. It's all about goals.
My first short term goal is to get rid of these pesky 7 pounds by the end of January at the latest. Once I'm back down to 200lbs, the fun will begin.

I have decided to do the Mudderella in Chicago on May 31st. It's something to motivate me, something to strive towards, and it looks fun as hell! Check out this video:

I need a team, so if you're reading this and decide this is something you would like to do, let me know! You don't have to be a marathon runner to do this. You don't have to be super fit and super in shape. It's not a race. But, it will be a challenge that you'll have to train for. You'll have to run and climb and crawl and jump. But it's a new year, and it's time to get out of your comfort zone. Plus, we get to pick a stellar team name and come up with cute matching outfits:)
I'm not saying it won't be hard, but I'm saying it will be worth it.
That's all for today, I just wanted to start the new year off with some motivation and inspiration.
My new years resolution, along with kicking some serious ass this year? To believe in myself. To try new things. To take more chances. To push myself. To smile more. To make new friends.
And that all starts here.
