Well, while babysitting today, we decided to go to the park around 10:30AM, play tennis, play basketball, then go swimming. That was extremely active and straying from our typical four hours of TV watching. I said, "Not anymore, let's get active!"
That was great, but after my swim lessons, I had to sub for someone which meant working 5:30PM-8:45PM...which was my entire working out time. The Y closes at 9, so I decided I would at least get a little bit out of it, so I ran a mile. No lifting, no crunches -____- Which may or may not be a good thing, because I had read somewhere that you're actually only supposed to do crunches 2-3 times a week and then let your stomach muscles rest, so I'm going to have to edit my workout schedule. Which is fine, the more I find out, the better. I'm actually going to add doing 20 pushups each morning because I read that that is the best way to wake up your entire body.
Today's total calorie intake: 1404.
I have discovered that www.MyFitnessPal.com is way better than the app. My app keeps messing up, and although it's not as convenient to come home and log everything on the computer, it might save my phone from being chucked across the room.
Another change I think I'm going to make:
After my workout I typically go home, eat dinner, then head to the apartment, take a shower-blahblahblah-and watch endless hours of Pretty Little Liars. I always end up staying up late, and I just don't need that much television. SO--from now on, starting tomorrow, I am going to go on at least a ten minute walk to wind down. Hopefully my friends will join me and it will be longer and more productive than ten minutes, but it's better than the boob tube melting my brain away. If the walk ends up being short, I will read for the remainder of the night or practice mi espanol, but I feel like my time could be spent doing more useful things and the tv can be limited to the weekends when I come home from work exhausted, and I can snuggle up next to my better half and watch Supernatural♥
P.S. Although I haven't been working out and dieting very long, I noticed today at the pool that my legs were already looking nicer--in my opinion. They are NOWHERE near where I want them to be, but it was encouraging to glance down and not want to saw them off. Rah Rah!
